We are Don and Nayana Ferguson, and Anteel Tequila is the materialization of our shared belief in living a life full of passion. As a two-time cancer survivor, Nayana brings a powerful perspective on resilience and the importance of every moment, which is the heart of our "Live Significantly" motto. Don’s deep respect for the history and patient craft of tequila guides our production standards. Together, we built this company not just on a love for a great spirit, but on a commitment to creating a business with meaning.
With over 125 awards, our commitment to exceptional quality is clear in every expression we produce. We patiently craft our tequila from a blend of Highland and Lowland agave, which are grown for years before being twice distilled for remarkable smoothness. This dedication has allowed us to create distinct spirits like the world's only Coconut Lime Blanco and the first Tarocco Blood Orange Blanco. We are proud to offer a portfolio that reflects our high standards and our unique story in the spirits world.

Founded in 2017, Anteel Tequila was the answer to Nayana Ferguson’s question to her husband, Don: “What would you do if you could do anything in the world?” His answer: “Own a tequila brand, but there’s no way we can do that.” Nayana answered, “Why not?” And thus began their journey. Seven years and 125+ awards later, Anteel Tequila is a premier tequila offered across the United States. The couple continues to create expressions that gain attention around the world with consumers and industry professionals alike making Anteel Tequila one of the most talked about tequilas in the last decade.
The evening that they first discussed creating a tequila company (also the evening that Don proposed to Nayana), an Antillean Crested Hummingbird hovered nearby, almost as if listening in on their plans. In Mexican folklore, the hummingbird is a symbol of positive energy, strength, courage, and elegance. Legend has it that if a hummingbird flies around your head, you should not touch it, as it will take your most intimate desires with it and make them real. Therefore, if a hummingbird flies your way, something extraordinary is bound to happen.
When a hummingbird crosses your path, it’s an indicator that you need to live your life to the fullest and slow down to enjoy the little things in life. Hummingbirds capture the pure essence of life and remind us to be present in the moment. Thus, at Anteel Tequila, this is why we say “live significantly.”
Founder Nayana is a pancreatic cancer survivor, leading her to be particular about what she puts into her body. Tequila, being made naturally from the agave plant, means that it’s gluten free, as well as low in carbs, sugars, and calories. Thus, she can drink it without many after effects
Husband Don appreciates the history and spirit behind tequila. According to Don, tequila’s beginnings are a great illustration of how all great things take time. The creation of the tequila still remains the same was it was years ago, taking the agave plant six to seven years to mature before the tequila can ever be made.
